New Blog Post By Frank - “To Kill A Demon Shark”
On the MCR website, Frank posted a blog, highlighting some news and solidying rumours that have been flying around recently.
First off, I would like to say thank you to everyone on Twitter and the message boards for all your well wishes and congratulations, it’s very cool to have so many people excited for us. Yes, my wife and I are now the proud owners of two brand new baby girls!!!
Frank confirms that he is a father, and goes on to confirm that the new album is finished!
Thirdly, MCR have designed a guitar strap for the new Guitar Hero, which can be pre-ordered on amazon.com here.
Lastly, the 6th and final instalment of prints was made available, but is already sold out. Unfortunately for MyChemFans, it is run by someone from Britain, and so blogs tend to be posted in the middle of the night. I suggest you keep an eye out on the website, twitter, and follow this excellent blog.
Also, if you go onto the MCR website, you will notice it has been entirely re-designed. Enjoy!

Cryptic New MCR Website
If you visit MyChemicalRomance.com, you’ll notice it’s a little different now, and thus suggests a new album is near. To many fans, the changing of MCR.com denotes that the band are back, so hold tight for future news!
The main page of the website features five different clickable frequencies, such as that of a radio, which can also be accessed by a dial. None feature new MCR songs.
On the bottom left of the object, PTTP is written. Could this mean ‘Power To The People’, or something else entirely?
If you have any more information, please do not hesitate to submit!

Following up on the previous news entry, Kerrang! also confirms album completion. →
Two weeks ago, it come to light via Comic Con that MCR’s new album was confirmed to be completed. Here Kerrang! back up this claim.

Gerard Confirms Album Completion
On the 23rd of July, the news that the next MCR album is complete was revealed during a Darkhorse panel discussion at Comic Con. [Source]
The quote from the previously linked source is as follows:
“Way said there would be no new comics from him this year, but his band just finished its new album and he would return to comics immediately after.”
So keep your eyes (and ears) peeled! -

Bob Bryar and My Chem part ways
On the 3rd of March, it was officially posted on the MCR Website, that Bob Bryar is no longer part of My Chemical Romance.
As posted on the blog:
‘As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.’ [source]
MCR also go on to say that the record is progressing well, and the four of them have been entering the studio again.
No further information has been posted on Bob’s departure.

AP Magazine Describes New Album Tracks
Although not particularly new news, Alternative Press Magazine gives a good insight behind some of the songs off of MCR’s fourth album:
- DEATH BEFORE DISCO
Described as an “anti-party party song” (and one of the first tracks the band wrote prior to their Japan trip), this rave-up was directly inspired by the original Detroit punks, the Stooges and MC5. The band actually got to play it for MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer when they met him during one of his Jail Guitar Doors charity initiatives. - THE LIGHT BEHIND YOUR EYES
An atmospheric track that wouldn’t sound out of place on a playlist between the Church and Talk Talk. According to Gerard, the band were going for a late-period Pink Floyd vibe, ca. The Division Bell. “We really went for something cinematic with it. Sort of like the sunset before the gunfight.” - HAIL TO THE KING
My Chemical Zeppelin, anyone? This song-formerly tagged “L.A. Heavy”-sounds like Queens Of The Stone Age manning a fleet of 1986 Monte Carlos and taking over a small town with an army of fist-pumping kids in leather vests and ratty jeans. “It’s all about playing a rock show with a who-gives-a-shit-what-the-song-means type of thing.” - STILL ALIVE
A chapter of My Chem mythology committed to song, this Britpop-sounding rocker is centered on the legendary story of the band getting a bottle of urine thrown at them at the Reading Festival in the U.K. - from the thrower’s point of view. - TRANS AM
This song-seemingly influenced by the Midwest crime drama “Badlands” and the modern sci-fi classic “Blade Runner”-sounds like the kind of thing coming out at top volume of a rusted-out, primer-coated, um, Trans Am. “Violence and automobiles are such a huge part of the American mythology. - SAVE YOURSELF, I’LL HOLD THEM BACK
“I kept referencing ‘Living After Midnight’ by Judas Priest. The verses were Judas Priest, the choruses were Bon Jovi with a little bit of ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’ thrown in. I wanted it to kind of be a leather-metal song. That song is about the importance of a believe over a victim.” - THE ONLY HOPE FOR ME IS YOU
A cousin to ‘Famous Last Words’ (the most optimistic cut from ‘The Black Parade’), this song encapsulates the band’s knack for both the anthemic and the melodic. “‘Famous Last Words’ was very direct in the choruses. This one is even more direct. For me, it’s looking at the beginning of my life-which is, for me, 9/11. It’s about a lot of things, like bringing a child into the world and being worried that there’s going to be something lousy [your child] is going to have to live through.” - BLACK DRAGON FIGHTING SOCIETY
The most head-swiveling 1-2-fuck you, live-in-the-studio moment in the entire MCR catalog, this song is 98 seconds of over-caffeinated, overmodulated, downstroked frenzy, replete with toy ray guns and a guitar battle royale between Frank Iero, Ray Toro and Gerard. “It kind of reminds me of one my favorite songs, ‘Heart Attack Man’ from the Beastie Boys’ ‘III Communication.’ There’s about two hours of production on it, yet it still sounds like My Chemical Romance.”
Note: Issue was out in November 09, two months ago, but it would still be possible to get back-issues if anyone is interested in it. Although this is an ‘old’ piece of information, I still felt it would be useful on the update of the new album. - DEATH BEFORE DISCO

Gerard: “The record was more challenging than the baby, and the baby was really challenging.”
Gerard talks about recording the new album amidst being a new father to Bandit Lee Way.

He told US magazine Spin: “The record was more challenging than the baby, and the baby was really challenging!
“I was pretty worn out. Lyn-Z and I had the baby, and then two weeks after that I was in the studio.”
He added: “I didn’t shave for weeks, looked horrible, and ended up getting all these dreadlocks in my hair.
“I was never showering. I would show up in a T-shirt covered in baby puke - you can pretty much picture the glamorous nature of that. And so we would work every day, and as soon as we were done I would rush right home and help Lyn-Z with the baby.”
